I guess it works kind of like a helicopter, It also looks like it is made out of plastic, driving it forward was a small propeller in the front.
Not sure but it looked like the "hood" on the engine was formed kind of like a wing.

Thats my theory.

I think it is a little drone airplane who someone transformed into a this ''blue grass'' machine.It can not be anything else,only airplanes flying like this,take off like this.On the other hand,maybe just someone changed this ''blue grass'' machine's device into a very high boost device so it can be fly.The second it is a bit difficult in my opinion but not improbable. :)
