So just a few minutes ago i returned from class after the best, most haughty, help I've ever handed to one of my students.
Background: Chemical engineering design course for last year students.
A group of three girls asked for help, so i went over to their work station asking what the problem was.
"We can't change this unit, do we have to do it all over again?"
"What is the problem?"
"Well, for some reason we can't change the number of stages here"
"Aah, try it again"
They try to do it again, i asume a "thinking pose" trying to hold back on the laughter.
"Have you tried changing anything else?"
The girl at the keyboard tried to change some random number.
"See, the program must have frozen or something"
(At this time note that everything works, except changing numbers)
**fast forward one minute of me trying to get them to help themselves, failing miserably**
I lean forward, contemptously tapping the "num lock"-key once, then walking back to my chair, getting a very faint: "thank you".
