In our old US-guild we where charged a dkp penalty for a screwup that wiped the raid. I don't think it was actually used but it was a part of the official rules as a deterent.

no zulakkar it was a dkp penalty for wiping the raid on purpose. Some paladins enjoyed pulling whelp groups after onyxia was killed and bubble-hearth :-P

There was a penalty in faith for the accidental wiping too assuming the screwup was bad enough. The penalty for this was pretty low compared to the intentional wiping and as I said I don't think it was actually ever used.

Yes, there was a penalty for wiping due to carelessness. But like all forms of discipline in that guild, it was rarely used (if ever).
