Hi as you may have seen I am applying to join Honorbound. If there are any plans tonight for some instancing I could perhaps tag along and meet you guys.

We are doing no high instance raiding today (only non-scheduled day this week! except for when we were out of bosses for the MC run this week)
Todays schedule is:
Wedding!
Finish Onyxia key quest for last ppl
And I think earthquake wanted to make a Battle for Darrowshire quest group.
Talk to earthquake, rampage, arcere, aldokar and they will hook you up!

I am a bit dissappointed in your selection process, if I was told at the start it would be judged purely on dps I would have played differently.
I was only level 59 at the time and warlocks can only cast 1 curse per mob. I said at the start that I would be putting Curse of Elements on the mobs so that would increase the raids dps but halve mine.
It was a great raid on UBRS and I had a great time a pity communication was bad.

It seems very unlikely that you were truely judged soley on dps. Esp if you are level 59.

I dont think you were judged on dps either. dps is a lot about gear (and attentiveness) and being lvl 59 and not geared very much it would be impossible to come high on dps. sounds like misscommunication indeed.
I'll see what happened.

judging players soley on dps is silly. Things like how often your available to play, how dependable you are, how smart you are when u mess up...yes believe me you will mess up its given everyone has.
In my alliance guild i arcane shot ragnaros instead of marking...GG

I remeber that. Didn't remember who it was though. We had many crazy wipes after 5 hours of raiding sometimes.

I might be able to shed some light on this...and I'm usually quite frank.
I was in the raid, heard you were an app and kept an eye on you. Here is what i saw:
You used CoE, true, but you also stood around doing nothing at times, not casting spells. Either you were chatting with someone, or was busy with something else, or you simply do not know what to do in these small raids. It was not just my imagination, i checked the total damage done up to Rend, you were below one of the raids healers in damage dealt and had less than one fifth my damage. One level, gear, or casting CoE can't explain that, not knowing what to do can.
PS. CoE does not increase the total damage of a raid on any humanoid in UBRS with two mages(or CoS and warlocks), the same holds true for most dragonkin. On bosses and some dragonkin it's worth it, but mostly not.

I have always been suspicious of damage meters as they do not give a true reading of everyone in the raid. I found it very hard to believe that you did 645,000+ damage compared to the next one in the raid 244,000+.
If I had cast CoA instead of CoE that would have been another 1024 damage on every mob, which you would agree certainly mounts up.
I have damage meters but have stopped using them because of the arguments it can cause. I have since done a UBRS and LBRS raid and come top on damage output, but again it may not include everyone because it only takes a certain radius of damage if you do not fall in that radius you are not counted.
Oh and when I used damaged meters I ocasionally forgot to reset them before battle commenced, this can give a some what distorted figure.

I'll translate the underlined sentence there in the end: "I was doing good damage, it must have been you who forgot to reset the damage meters."
Please do not make numbers up to prove a point, you might happen to run into someone with a very good memory for numbers in particular. The next one in that raid had 500-550k, but that guy was afk-ish. Anyone who has run a damage meter during an UBRS run knows what numbers you get after a full run, and 245k for second highest is simply impossible to get clearing that entire instance.
I know damage meters are off unless they are synched but please explain less than a fifth up to Rend, and the discrepancy in the meters only applying to you. A healer was ahead of you...
Then again, damage is not the issue, you were standing still a lot not doing anything at all. Was this because you were doing something else? An important phone call maybe? Having a conversation with a recruiting officer? Lag? Not being familiar with the way the raid worked? Lack of CTRaid and/or assist macro? Anything?
I know I'm not mistaken, after checking the damage meters at Rend i watched you pretty closely, for periods of time you were not doing anything.
CoA would have netted you 2-3 ticks per mob, it doesn't run it's full course on trash and is also a poor choice of spell. So no, i don't agree.

I remember the figures quite clearly because I was so shocked at the difference.
You were top with 645,000 then the next 3 or 4 all had 240,000 to 244,000 and then it tumbled down to me at 144,000 I was 7th out of 10. I have an excellent memory.
No I was not distracted by anything.
But I am withdrawing my application as I obviously do not fit in with game plan of Honorbound and have now joined a guild who think I play ok.
I would love to see the places Honorbound are going I guess I will have to be patient and go with a more agreeable guild.

It is easy to become defensive in these situations. Should you look at this post again, while Zhorx may come off strong, he asks you what happened.
This was a really good time not to be defensive and seriously answer the question of what was up with your dps.
Should a similar situation present itself at another time, I would recommend being more communicative.

Ok I have re evaluated after playing with another warlock who did 100k more damage than me in a raid on ZG. He was SM/Ruin specced I am demonology specced so changing my spec to SM/Ruin and then see what I can do.
So Zhorx I do not know what spec you are But I still cannot believe you could do over 500k more damage than I in the same amount of time, also you never attracted any agro doing such high damage I would have thought you would have.
I am enjoying myself in UBRS and ZG also had a great time doing PvP with you and your fellow honorbound guildies so I hope there was no hard feelings.
All the best and keep up the good work
